Is a story of you OUR STORY is a story of you.

After 25 years as Boggy Creek Animal Hospital, we have decided to renew our name and our brand. Our hospital was founded in 1996 and named after the road it was built on.

Since then, the road has changed names, as we are now on Fortune road and the Boggy Creek name doesn’t quite capture this next chapter we are embarking on. After much thought and consideration, we decided on Flora Family Vet.

Flora We decided on the name Flora for many reasons. In ancient Roman times, Flora was considered the goddess of flowers, vegetation, and Spring. She represented the renewal energy of nature, the blossoming of all flowers and plants, and the nurturing of animals in it. It is this name that our great state was named after. Florida was named by Ponce de Leon when he encountered the abundance of wild flowers upon his arrival on our coast. It was named in honor of “Pascua de Florida” which was a Spring festival that was celebrated yearly in Spain. This festival traced its roots to the Floralia Festival of the Romans in which they celebrated the goddess Flora and the arrival of Spring.

Flora y Fauna

In Spanish, the phrase “Flora y Fauna” represents the perfect harmony of nature between plants and animals. It is the restorative energy of this union that we strive to replicate within our hospital every day. We have created spaces that are rich with flowers and plants. They permeate throughout our hospital including our lobby, our exam rooms, and even the team’s break room. These spaces help decrease fear and anxiety, and provide a calming green space in which our patients, clients, and our team members can thrive. Our remembrance garden is a perfect example of this. It was created to better aid grieving families with the difficult process of letting their babies go in a private and secluded space surrounded by nature within our hospital. It also serves as a place for our clients and team members to rest and remember those no longer with us.

Healing & Renewal

We help our patients heal and rejuvenate through our medicine and the love we provide for each one that comes into our care. We are passionate about providing exceptional education for our clients so they may better take care of their furry family members and help the human animal bond flourish. We feel that Flora truly exemplifies this credo. Our hospital is a place of repose and renewal for all who come visit, animals and human beings alike.

Family We knew we wanted to incorporate the word family in our name because that’s how we view our animals, clients, and our team members. As animal lovers, we know how much each one of our animals means to us and in the same way, how much each one of our patients mean to our clients. Animals are truly part of our family and we treat them as if they were our own each and every time. Our clients are also part of our big family as many of our long term clients will attest to and we love to have a family environment every time they come to visit us. Finally our team ultimately completes our big Flora Family. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment where they can grow and feel supported.

Heart & Soul Although we may be changing our name, the soul of our hospital will not change. Even though our hospital might look slightly different, our why will continue to be the same. We will continue to provide the exceptional service and care our patients and clients have grown accustomed to over the last 25 years. We head into these next 25 years with renewed energy and the continued promise to care for every animal as if they were our own and treat them and their families as part of our big family. We are so excited to have you all join in our journey and be part of Flora Family Vet.
